Taking corporate headshots is something we all have to do at some point or another. Take it from me, you don’t want to leave it up to your iPhone in order to have the best possible media shot possible. Here are a few tips that you can use to ensure your business portrait looks better than the rest.
Don’t wear white. No, seriously, don’t wear white. Most of the time, it flushes out your face and makes the photo too bland.
Avoid tops with patterns. Too bland or too busy, leave the patterns at home!
Timeless classics are best for tops. You want your corporate headshot to last a few years, so ensure you don’t wear anything too trendy.
Should you smile? As with anything, a warm smile says a lot about you. I would recommend a smile.
Go easy on the make-up. You want to look your best, but you should be professional too.
Most importantly, be yourself!
A good photographer will position you in several ways in order to obtain the best look for you. You don’t just want one photo to choose from.
Follow the above and I will do the rest.
It’s worth it to pay a little bit to ensure your photos are professionally done. After all, they are going to be seen by the world, eventually.
Here are some professional headshots I recently took for ZaZa Cuban Diner.
